I find a lot of it confusing just because so many people contradict each other. I've been given a diet plan and workout advice by the fitness and nutrition coach of the Ospreys rugby team after telling him i wanted to get ripped, and he said i should do low weights high reps along with sprints and interval type sessions. So who's right? You or him?

Caleb,

A bit of topic, but do Oylmpic lifters use the bench press. I've read elsewhere that the overhead press is way more functional. If true, why perform the bench press?. I mean Oly lifters look good /strong without it. I ask because I really don't like performing it and I'm looking for a sound reason not to. Also, as Oly lifters egardless of weight class not only are strong but look quite chiseled - the muscles look rock hard - I'm wondering if I should follow an Oly type routine. Or does the 3-5 program do this?

meat is essential to gaining muscle, yes you can still put on pounds without it, but it is far more difficult.
