Get All You Can Out Of Anything You Got First!

Just a quick tip for you today about how to make your life better … by doing what you can with what you got …

I Almost Cried!

I woke up this morning and hit the power button for my laptop, ready and rearin to hop on this badboy and do this morning’s blog post.

Then the horror hit.

All the little power buttons came on … but the screen never did.

The Fear Was Paralyzing.

Maybe you think I’m being dramatic … but this was a BIG deal.

I make my living from writing. I wrote over 20 pages of stuff yesterday … have a deadline tomorrow for it … and that project was only on this laptop.

Plus, there’s the new product I’m working on — over 30 something pages of a “members only” website — all only on this computer.

Basically, I’d be starting from scratch on a LOT of projects.

At First, I Thought My Day Was Shot.

I was going to have to wait till 10am to call tech support at Best Buy. Then I’d probably have to go in and wait around, killing any productive time during my day, waiting to see what they said.

Hopefully, they’d be able to get the data out I needed … or maybe I would have had to buy a new computer … either way … I just knew the day was going to rape me.

Then I Decided To Do Something.

Hopped on the old, trusty (yet continually re-booting) desktop and started googling my problem. Found a quick “home fix” involving removing the battery that worked for a lot of other people.

Tried it. It worked. Now, I only wasted 38 minutes of this morning fixing this issue when I was prepared to make it a full day’s affair.

Lesson Learned? Do SOMETHING!

This is a lesson that’s continually taught over and over to me throughout my life … but it’s one that’s worth learning and re-learning because no matter what …

… In virtually every situation … there’s SOMETHING you can do to try to change your circumstances.

Even if you think you have no resources … and the cold, icy grip of fear has taken hold of your throat … you’re almost certain to have 1 or 2 options available to you.

So make sure you exhaust those first, before you give up hope.
