Read this because I’m going to share the fat burning diet you’ve been looking for! What makes this diet so great?
- You can eat literally EVERYTHING (pizza, beer and ice cream baby!)
- You don’t have to stress over meal planning…
- You don’t need a lot of “will power” to stick to it…
- You don’t need to fix and prepare 4-6 meals per day, or try to eat every 3 hours…
- You get to eat a LOT of food, and literally stuff your face every day!
Doesn’t it sound perfect? Well, it pretty much is, so keep reading for all the details:
Intro To Intermittent Fasting
Intermittent fasting is the idea of alternating brief periods of undereating or “fasts” without food with brief periods of overeating. That’s the basic idea. There are many different versions of this type of eating but the best part about it is it’s a truly “lifestyle” way to eat — and NOT a diet!
That means you don’t have to follow a bunch of rules and it makes it simple to follow because you just change the way you’re already doing things and it makes it easy to integrate into your lifestyle. So that’s the basic idea, alternating periods of time of no food with periods of time of lots of food.
But isn’t this unhealthy? Don’t you need to eat every 3 hours (4-6 times per day) to keep your metabolism humming and to burn fat and build muscle? NOPE! The six meal a day thing has been proven to be a myth — read my article about it by clicking the blue link The “6 Meals A Day” Myth.
When To Eat
There’s many variations of intermittent fasting. I like the variations where you eat every day because I like to stuff my face every day. So here’s the two variations I alternate between:
- 20 hour fast/4 hour feast: simply don’t eat for 16 hours a day and only eat in a 4 hour time window as much as I want…
- 16 hour fast/8 hour feast: this is when I want to gain muscular body weight, because to do this I need to eat more calories, and it’s a little harder to eat them all in just 4 hours I expand the window to 8 hours…
Which one you choose depends on your goals. But it might be easier to start with the 16 hour fast one, until you get used to it. Here’s an example of how it works:
You get up at 9am and have some black coffee (or no calorie sugar and a little cream). Eat or drink nothing but water or no calorie sweetened drinks until 12pm noon when you break your fast and have your first meal, you then continue on like normal and have the rest of your normal 3 meals per day but ONLY between the hours of 12pm noon and 9pm at night — then you don’t eat anymore again until 12 noon the next day.
Simple and easy, just the way I like it.
What To Eat
The great thing about this lifestyle of eating is you can eat virtually anything. That being said, it’s important to eat healthy. So here are the basic rules:
- Avoid Everything in a box
- Eat Meat and Dairy
- Eat Green Stuff
- Eat nuts, berries, and things like that
- When in doubt, think: “would a caveman eat this?” and you’ll be fine.
See, cavemen didn’t develop agriculture yet, so there were no farms, no rice, no pasta, no bread, no cereal, just natural, wholesome stuff that comes from the earth (green stuff) or from animals (meat, dairy) and lots of the right types of macronutrients — fats, proteins, and very little carbs — which is great for your overall health.
If you want a more detailed idea of what to eat, see The Perfect Muscle Building, Fat Burning Diet Plan.
Stuffing Your Face!
I particularly like the 4 hour eating window period because you can stuff your face as much as you want basically in your “feeding” time and you will get full way before you’ll overeat — which means you’ll automatically lose weight even though you get the psychological benefit of eating until you feel ready to pop every night…
And when you follow the simple guidelines above about what to eat — it becomes EASY to lose weight. My friend Paul went from 160 plus pounds down to 140-145 pounds of rock solid, ripped muscle in about 1.5-2 months following this eating schedule and believe me he ate a TON! Every time we’d go out to dinner, he would astonish the waitresses by ordering 3 or four entrees at a time and eating it all.
So if you want to lose weight then follow THE fat burning diet I’ve laid out for you here.
