Time for some link love on this sunny tuesday morning! I promised myself I’d start doing more and more of this, so that’s what I’m doing now
Note: Wondering why the Zelda guy is gracing this blog post?
His name is “Link” … Get it?!
First, Stop Reading & Start Doin!
But not until you finish reading this good article on Zen Habits about doing just that — stopping reading & starting doing
Important point: reading self-help books, articles or anything to improve yourself is only the first step. You may feel like you’re doing something, but you’re really only starting — it’s time to put the books (or the websites) down and get started doing something.
Paleo Eating in a Nutshell
If I have to answer one more text about “is it ok to eat this?” then I’m gonna punch my friend in the baby maker! Actually, it’s not that bad — but nutrition is NOT that hard!
Just think to yourself whenever you’re contemplating whether something is good for you:
“Would a Cave Man Eat This?”
And you’ll know immediately whether something is good or not for you to eat! There’s no wondering … no humming or hawwing … it’s all pretty simple as “Pay Now, Live Later” shows us in this popular little youtube vid on the basics of paleo eating.
Ditch The Workout Shake For Fat Loss!
Another thing besides the 6 meals per day myth that’s been perpetrated by fitness media is:
- If you don’t eat something immediately after your workout, all your gains are gone, your muscles start eating themselves and all that hard work was for nothing!
- That you always need to drink a post workout shake right after working out …
And it just aint always so! Why? For one, I would doubt a lot of the treadmill bunnies out there even burn off the amount of calories they consume in their post workout shake … and as for losing all your gains … it just aint gonna happen.
Especially if you goal is fat loss, Rusty reminds us that post workout shakes aren’t always best.
Want Some Barefoot Alternatives?
So it’s pretty obvious that the human foot is an engineering marvel, an amazing piece of machinery which has been meticulously and miraculously designed — and that there are MANY health benefits to going around barefoot.
Unfortunately, in our western cultures, this is just not acceptable. You get people stairing at you too for wearing those weird looking “feet glove” shoes with 5 spots for all your toes.
What to do? This article from Mark’s Daily Apple explores diferrent barefoot alternatives. My favorite? Flip Flops SON!
So there you go — sharin some link love this Tuesday morning and hope you really like these posts!
