How To Get Strong Fast

by Caleb Lee on April 17, 2009

how-to-get-strong-fastIf you want to know how to get strong fast, then you’re reading the right page because that’s what I’m going to show you here …

Why Get Strong?

When you’re strong, EVERYTHING is easier:

  • You can gain muscle easier
  • You can lose weight easier
  • You can run faster
  • You can hit harder, throw farther, and jump higher
  • You can do stupid things like help your friends move couches after a heavy day of deadlifts till 3 in the morning because she’s a really hot Cuban chick who is too adorable to say “no” to (not that I’m speaking from experience or anything) …

So it’s really in your best interest to get stronger. Not only that but let’s not forget about …

Mental Strength Is The Key To Moving Mountains!

When you’re mentally strong, much like being physically strong, everything in life becomes easier. The wheels become greased for you to achieve what you want in life — and it’s like life just starts handing you stuff on a silver platter.

Maybe it’s like Samuel Goldwyn said, “The Harder I Work, The Luckier I Get” …

But one thing is for sure, everything SEEMS easier. Strength training builds the type of mental toughness that physical fighting does. Like in Fight Club, where the main character says, “After you’ve been in a fight, it’s like the volume on life get’s turned down” — and it’s true — you’re more able to deal with situations when you’ve tested yourself and continually pulled through.

You’ll have more confidence and carry yourself differently too.

The Get Strong Fast Plan …

1. Focus On Building Strength With The Foundational Exercises – Squat, Deadlift, Bench Press and Overhead Press.

2. Do Those Exercises 3x Per Week …

3. Start With A Weight For Each Exercise — that makes it “hard” to complete 5 reps. Try to do 5 sets of these 5 reps.

4. When You DO Reach 5 Reps — add a “nickel” (5lbs) to each end of the bar and start over …

5. If you MUST do something else on your off days — do some sprints, or play a sport. I better not catch you jogging.

6. Eat Food. Keep it clean (you don’t need me to tell you dunkin donuts is NOT clean — use your head!). Lots of Red Meat. Lots of other meat. Lots of Dairy.

7. Get Mentally Tough On Each Workout — think to yourself “I’m going to get 5 reps on this exercise – otherwise it’s a waste! I’m going to do it!” then do it.

Bonus Tip, Learn About Leverage!

Basically, all things being equal, the more weight you lift -the stronger you’re going to get. So it pays to learn about leverage and how to best do the key exercises (deadlifts, squats, benches, presses).

This isn't getting strong this is getting big, these guys couldn't climb up walls or lets see them jump from 10 feet without getting hurt. Its just all for show sure the mental part is good, but the rest is a waste of time. Ever see the military training with weights? I don't think so. That's because they train for efficiency and endurance. The things you actually use in life. Not to look flashy for their enemy's. Try strengthening your tendons and ligaments. Try body-weight training. You will get way stronger then those weightlifters ever would. I'm like 1/10 the size of that guy but I can scale straight up a 15ft brick wall using only my body and explosive power. No bodybuilder I know can do that, and I know lots of bodybuilders.

Caleb_Lee November 12, 2010 at 8:06 pm

There's a lot to be said for mastering your bodyweight Argof, good point … but to totally discount strict strength training or just a particular modality of doing it (weight lifting) is wrong imhbao :)

No offense, just for some reason this guy's comment made me laugh. Actually, by all means, I don't need to keep writing — I'm cool.

His name is "TREY" and his email is: "" I feel ok, publishing his info because he asked you guys to ask him for tips instead of me. So fire away if anyone wants to :)

I'm 18 and I want to get as strong as i can in 2 months, what do you think I should take to help me increase my strength. I heard people mention creatine and testosterone. Would you recommend any of those and what kind? I've also heard people talk about HGH. What do you recommend I use to help me get stronger for football?

Caleb_Lee May 10, 2010 at 2:00 pm

creatine for sure. And get your diet right, at your age — the Vitamin T is already flowing — just eat a lot of RED Meat and Saturated Fat and Less Carbs. Your member will be so hard all the time you'll know you're eating right … creatine after workouts and work hard in the gym and you'll do great!

Hey, I’m 14 and our football team REALLY needs a few linemen, my current bench max is only 110lbs and I want to get stronger in the next 3 months before we start the season. I would prefer not to ise creatine or any muscle building medicines. My goal is to be able to bench @least 50 more lbs by the start of the season… Any advice?

Caleb_Lee March 6, 2011 at 7:02 pm

Yup, bench a lot. Try the DoubleYourGains begginer program on this stie and don't forget to squat and eat a lot you'll put on weight and gain strength.

monkey May 30, 2011 at 2:04 am

ok sqating is a linemens streagth i know cause i'm a rb but work with the linemen so i know that 110 is little but sqat 265 is alot

Is there anyone here who isn't saying there going to try it and actually tried it cuz i wana talk to someone who has already done it on the comments instead if trying it to later find put it could be a waste of time……….

Caleb_Lee August 23, 2011 at 11:43 pm

What are you talking about?

Big Amz August 22, 2011 at 4:39 pm

I’m 20 years old, used to be an MMA fighter back when I was 16. Had a really bad back injury a few years ago (came with a concussion too, actually) and in recovery I got really fat and unfit. I can’t train as hard as I used to but yeah, I’m trying to get back into the game. Hopefully this website will give me the boost I need. Its working so far, but only time will tell. Thank you to the author/admin guy
