Want to know how to build muscle mass fast? Then you’re reading the right article. Building muscle mass fast basically comes down to:

  • Overload – you need massive overload of your muscles to stimulate muscle mass growth…
  • Recovery - you need to allow your muscles to rebuild themselves and help them to do it…

And you thought it was going to be all technical with a big, hard to understand equation didn’t you? Nope! Here’s three tips to help you achieve these two goals effectively…

1. How To OverLoad

These are all proven ways to make your muscle work harder, to overload them…

  • Time Under Tension: If you’re lifting heavy weights, lift slow and tight, maximizing your time under tension…
  • Increase workout density: if you did 20 reps of the squat in your last 45 minute workout, get 25 in this one. Or do 20 reps with 5 more pounds. You’re increasing he density…
  • Use your whole body: hit your whole body each workout. This stimulates the maximum amount of sex (muscle growth) hormones possible…
  • Use a Finisher – finish your weight training session with something like 50-100 Hindu Squats. Or 50 Kettlebell snatches. Something to hit your muscles in a different manner, focused on upping your HGH levels right at the end of a workout (anaerobic activity)…

2. Rest

You don’t build muscle mass in the gym, you build it while you’re resting. While you’re outside the gym. This is part one of recovery…

  • Deep Sleep – getting deep sleep is crucial, even if you can’t sleep as “much” as you like, you can increase the quality of your sleep. Deep sleep is where the maximum amount of HGH is released…
  • Take more rest days – if you’re hitting your whole body hard and overwhelming it, with something like a 20 rep squat routine where you’re adding 5lbs each workout, then you might need to cut back from the standard 3x/week to 2x/week…
  • Active Recovery – it helps on your rest day to get out and do something to get the blood flowing, do a little light movement patterns like your workout (to get blood into the muscles you last worked to help recovery) and stretching to loosen up those tight muscles. 3. Eat

You can’t build muscle mass fast without eating a LOT. Most people who say they can’t build muscle simply aren’t eating enough…

  • Use a recovery shake – the most important muscle mass building meal is immediately after you workout. Within 30 min (10 min. is best) drink a post workout shake with fast absorbing protein (whey) and carbs (these can be starchy carbs)…
  • Keep a Log - you are probably wrong about how much you’re eating. Record everything you eat for a week to see the difference…
  • Eat clean – see my article on eating clean for the guidelines here…
  • Add 500 cal - if you’re not gaining weight, add 500 clean calories each week…
  • Add 500 cal more - if you’re still not gaining weight (after two weeks) keep adding more calories each week
  • Supplement - Read my article on supplements you should be taking.
