If you’re looking for exercises to get rid of cellulite, then this article will give you some tips on that.
First and foremost, cellulite is not even real. (I’m sure the women reading this who are suffering from it are saying “yeah right!” right about now. But “cellulite” isn’t a medical term because it doesn’t really exist
It’s a “made up” word that got started in European salons and spas, during the late 1960’s, to describe the dimpled appearance of skin found on women’s butts and thighs…
There’s a lot of false advertising and information in the media about Cellulite. Saying it’s a “special type” of fat– supposedly different from “regular fat”, a combination of fat, water, and “toxic wastes” that the body has failed to eliminate…
But This is Just All B.S.!
There are multiple studies, like the one where Neil Solomon, M.D., conducted a double-blind trial of 100 people to see whether “cellulite” was different than ordinary fat. Samples of regular fat and lumpy fat were obtained by a needle biopsy procedure and given to pathologists for analysis and comparison… and No differences between the two types of fat samples were found.
What Exercises Get Rid Of Cellulite?
If you’re already at your target weight (that is you’re not trying to lose more weight), but you want to “firm” up your skin and get rid of that cellulite appearance then you need to focus on exercises which stimulate your muscles underneath your skin.
Why? Because when these muscles deep, deep, deep underneath the skin become “untoned” and saggy… it then allows the overlaying layers of skin and the fat layer to also be soft and limp and uneven… causing the skin to ‘dimple’ and pucker – hence giving you the appearance of “cellulite” – or the ‘orange-peel’ effect…
So the key is to focus on exercises that tone and strengthen those underlying muscles.
You Want To Do 3 Types Of Exercises
- Straight up strength exercises — to build “residual tension” in the muscles. So “high tension” exercises like difficult body weight exercises…
- Static Contraction training — which is holding a “flexed” position in certain positions…
- Cardio – you want to focus on certain types of cardio to continue burning fat while you “firm” up the muscles underneath (as an added bonus you can do cardio that also helps strengthen and tone your muscles).
To be honest, I’m not really an expert at showing women how to get rid of cellulite.
However, my close friend — personal trainer, best-selling author, and all around good guy Joey Atlas is!
