I get some questions from people wondering about the best exercises for belly fat. Can I recommend any exercises specifically to remove the fat around your waist?
No and Yes… let me explain…
You see, when your body burns fat, it burns it from every spot in your body. Your hips, thighs, chest, arms, and yes–your belly. (Although belly fat is the last area to burn for guys… and hips and thighs are usually the last area to burn for gals — it’s all those damn genetics!)
Fat burning activites burn fat equally, it’s a pretty communistic process that has nothing to do with what exercise you do…
So this is the reason why doing 100’s of crunches isnt’ going to burn the fat around your midsection anymore than doing 15 minutes of sprint intervals. They both burn the same amount of belly fat.
That’s the “no” part of my answer. There’s no specific exercises that is best for belly fat. You can burn belly fat with any exercise that burns fat.
Here’s the “yes” part of my answer…
You want a smaller waist right?
The idea behind losing belly fat is to get a smaller waist, maybe even a six-pack — and I can recommend an exercise for that. It’s called the Stomach Vacuum and if you consistently use it, you could very easily lose a couple of inches off your waist in just a few weeks.
So that’s my long, convulated answer to “what are the best exercises for belly fat?“. Hope it helps
