Do You Make This HUGE Mistake Trying To Build A Big Chest And Gigantic Arms?

If you want to build sleeve ripping arms and a big barrel chest to go with it… then you need to make sure you’re not making this HUGE mistake in the gym.

There’s a guy who goes to my gym who looks a lot like a toothpick dressed up in gym clothes. I’m not picking on the guy, but he’s skinnier than nicole richie on a cocaine bender.

And more than anything I can tell…

This Guy Wants To Build Huge Guns!

I’m sure he wants to impress the ladies with the size of his biceps and I know he wants to be able to puff out a big chest, instead of the concave orifice that currently occupies that space.

So what does he do?

Lots and LOTS of arm work…

Makes sense right?

Every day I’m in the gym I see him doing arm work:

  • He’ll start with a set of barbell curls…
  • Then skull crushers…
  • Then he’ll hit an overhead tricep extension machine for half reps (gritting his teeth and hissing with each rep too)…
  • And then I’ll see him go through it all again

And the whole time…

He’s Walking Around On Toothpicks!

Now his upper body is small… but his lower body is downright wasting away. Sure he’s naturally tall… but there’s a good reason why he looks like an emancipated ostrich.

Hopefully by now you realize this guys mistake right?

He doesn’t squat or deadlift.

He didn’t read my article on how you can build a big chest and huge arms by working out your legs.

It’s a shame too. I’ve never met a big guy that didn’t squat or deadlift. Never.

There’s a reason why the 20 rep squat routine is the stuff of legend when it comes to packing on POUNDS of lean muscle mass (twenty pounds of muscle gain is often reported with this routine).

Why Do Squats Work So Well To Build Muscle Fast?

Good question. Here’s the two biggest reasons:

  1. You put your whole body under more stress…
  2. More stress leads to more adaptation…

But you know what?

If you’re a “hardgainer” like my friend here who is trying to build up his upper body. You shouldn’t even wonder WHY squats work. You should just DO THEM.

You know what successful people do? They find other people who have been successful… look at what they did to get there… and then they do the exact same thing… and get the exact same results.

Can it really be that easy?
