Cleansing Lemon Diet?

cleansing-lemon-diet-and-other-crazy-dietsI recently got an email from a subscriber that went something like this: “If I do the Cleansing Lemon Diet, or eat a lot of lemons, will I lose weight?”

At first, I didn’t know what he was talking about, then I did some Googling (that means I searched the internet, NOT touched myself!) and I found out he/she was talking about.

What Is The Cleansing Lemon Diet?

It’s when you basically, for a number of days, drink only a lemonade infused drink (sometimes with cayenne pepper and maple syrup) in an effort to “cleanse” your system of toxins and help you lose weight.

On the extreme, some people don’t eat much for several days, just drinking this concoction — and others recommend just eating light soups along with this in the beginning and then later on switching to real foods (after about 4-5 days).

Does The Lemon Cleanse Diet Work?

Well, for this discussion of the effectiveness of this diet, we are going to use the scientific method of looking at LOTs of pictures of Beyonce, and even a video of her dancing.

Why? Because Beyonce apparently lost 20 pounds for her role in Dream Girls using the master cleanse diet. I’ll be honest, I haven’t done enough research to determine if this is the same diet as the Cleansing Lemon Diet, but I believe it’s close enough.

And before you accuse me of just thinking of an excuse to fill a blog post with many different pictures of Beyonce, you should know that I’m only using her as an example for a couple reasons:

  1. She is a “full figured girl” (not some under-weight hollywood party girl) …
  2. She apparently used this diet …
  3. Ok, you got me, Beyonce is ALL that is Woman!

Exhibit #1: Beyonce at the Beach

Notice Beyonce’s full “hour glass” figure in the first picture here.

The ratio of her hips to her actual waist — this is a good ratio and what many would call “child bearing hips” (but the small waist makes her still look sexy):

This one picture isn’t enough evidence, so let’s examine even more. In this next picture, take notice, of her defined stomach (she must do some ab work along with that cleanse diet)

The way the light glistens off the oil on her body (not sure how this is going to help — but geezus look at it!):

We can effectively determine from these pictures that Beyonce has a GREAT body when she is in her bikini. This takes a lot of stress of my mind and a lot of weight off my shoulders, because now I KNOW for sure.

It’s time now to move on to the next exhibit.

Exhibit #2: Beyonce’s Strength, Endurance and Athleticism

The first part of this exhibit is to carefully examine the “Single Ladies” video — you might also know this video/song as “Put a ring on it” because that’s the hook.

What’s important to note here again, is:

  • Beyonce’s hip to waist ratio
  • Beyonce’s toned, oiled thighs
  • Her athletic movements over long periods of time (displaying high levels of strength endurance)
  • Her hip movement (hip function is a marker of athletic ability — and Beyonce has a LOT of it!)
  • Notice the perfect bodyweight squat at 59 seconds (in heels!)

We can never be sure, so let’s carefully examine a screen capture from this video.

Closing Thoughts …

One can never be sure if any diet will work for EVERYONE … but the lemon cleanse diet appears to be working for Beyonce. Would I recommend such a diet for you? I don’t think it would hurt, but I’d recommend just following my other sensible diet and nutrition advice instead (then again, if you start to look anything like Beyonce — you can do whatever you want!)

I don’t know how you can recommend diets like this. What happened to a slight calorie deficient and regular exercise? Eating lemons all day is a great way to breakdown muscle and lose weight that way, i’m sure. Overall the diet would have an unhealthy effect on the body. Please remove this post to stop the crazy cycle!

Dont bother with the explination. Some people cant seem to understand anything. He seems to be one of those people.
