Best Glutes Exercises

glutes-exercisesIf you want to know the best glutes exercises…  if you want to tone, lift, shape and firm up the junk in the trunk… then you’ll want to read this article now.

What’s Up With Your Butt?

Your glutes are one of the largest and strongest muscles in your body… but they’re probably one of the least worked muscles in your body if you don’t know the info in this article.

Your butt is capable of lifting tremendous loads (and I’m not just talking about your weight — ZING!)

No, you need to learn to “put your butt into it!”

Is Your Butt Asleep?

Most people don’t have “active” glutes, and by that I mean they don’t know how to activate these powerful muscles in order to get them working.

Those silly fire hydrant exercises you do in your aerobics class will get you feeling your glutes a little… and that’s about all they’re good for.

You should also do the table maker exercise in order to learn how to activate your glutes… but here’s the simple lesson:

Squeeze Your Cheeks!

If you imagine there is a quarter between your butt cheeks and you’re trying to squeeze it into being thinner, then you’ll figure out how to activate your glutes.

So stand up and do a couple of reps of this squeezing technique and notice how it “locks in” your whole lower body, you feel like you’re immediately more stable. Now flex your abs at the same time and notice how stable and solid you feel.

Pretty cool eh?

Now they’re activated, How do we train them?

First off you can’t really “shape, tone, lift, sculpt, etc” a muscle… but you can make it stronger, larger and more tense. If you want to get that shapely butt look you gotta start doing exercises that put your butt under a lot of tension — so you get that toned look

Which exercises work best for this? The almighty deadlift and the barbell squat are serious butt exercises because the glutes bear the weight of 100’s of pounds of load on the barbell when you do these two exercises — they’re the primary movers.

Focus on trying to activate your glutes throughout these movements while paying attention to keeping strict, correct form… and you’ll start to see your glutes get stronger and “tone” up.

So remember, forget the silly aerobic moves and stick to squats and deadlifts because they’re the best glutes exercises.

First off, you’ll wanna stop doing all those silly aerobics class
