Can specific exercises burn belly fat?
Is there such thing as a specific belly fat burning workout?
Can one type of workout really burn the flab off your stomach?
If so, how do you do it?
All that and more will be covered in this short article!
First, The Infomercials Are Full Of It!
Ever since infomercials were invented, you’ve seen product after product, ab gadget after ab gadget that was shown to “work your core” and “Burn belly fat” … but it just aint so.
Using the latest ab gadget to do 1,000 “better” crunches (if there was such a thing to be had while using an ab gadget) will NOT burn belly flab more specifically.
In fact, it’s actually a very inefficient way to lose the fat off your stomach. Why? Because you lose stomach off your whole body … not just one area … even if … you spent hours working that one area out!
No! 1,000 situps with the latest ab gadget is not going to help you lose belly fat!
Second, More Important Than Exercise Is DIET!
When it comes to getting a flat belly or even six pack abs … your diet is everything. Most people can’t accept that and that’s why they buy ab gadget after ab gadget … and … all those machines end up being expensive clothes hangers!
Like the saying goes, “You can’t outwork the kitchen table” … and it’s true … mostly. You COULD actually workout enough to make what you eat irrelevent (it’s said that olympic swimmer Michael Phelps eats in excess of 10,000 calories per day!) but really … you’d have to workout out so much that it’s not really feasible (unless you DO happen to be an Olympic athlete)
Here’s a better idea: if you’re in a REAL hurry to get super flat abs or a six pack, control what you put in your mouth AND go on that “super hard workout routine” you were planning on doing to make what you eat irrelevant. That would make you lose weight twice as fast right?
Third, Attack The Problem From All The Right Angles!
Most people ignore strength training when they are in a quest to lose fat (especially belly fat for some reason). Don’t. You should strength train because there’s a TON of health benefits and muscle burns fat, even if you’re doing nothing else.
Second, control your diet to speed up the weight loss. That’s going to give you the biggest results out of everything you do, but it’s important to mention it again here.
Third, you can add in specific “fat burning” exercise routines, cardio, etc to really take it up to the next level, but about 80% of your success with losing belly fat comes from getting the correct diet in place … and … doing strength training to keep your highly valuable muscle around (or even build a little more).
So when it comes to fat burning workouts, the truth is, they don’t stand alone.
