Become Superior By Making Mistakes

mistakes-become-superiorRead this powerful quote, and think about it for just one moment:

“While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior.”

– Henry C. Link

What’s Stopping You?

When you got up this morning, did you think … “Just for today, I’m going to LOVE my life!”

If not, why?

Is it because you dreaded gettting up? Here in the states, it’s the day after Memorial Day, so most people had to go back to work.

Are you back at a job you hate because you HAVE to … because you’ve been hesitating — putting off — making a career change?

The bottom line for most people: you put off making a change for the better because you’re afraid of making a “mistake”.

Why Be Afraid Of Mistakes?

I’ve touched on this before, but why be afraid of mistakes? You do realize you’re SUPPOSED to make them right?

You do realize that the most successful people make the MOST mistakes. It’s all part of the game of life.

If you change your reasoning from thinking mistakes are bad to thinking mistakes are NECESSARY … then you won’t find yourself dreading them anymore.

Mistakes Are Opportunities To Grow!

Consider a small child:

It starts out not even being able to crawl. It just lays there … then it decides it wants to move. So it tries. At first, it fails again and again making mistake after mistake of how to move its little limbs to scoot its fat little body across the floor.

But eventually, it gets it!

Then it decides it wants to walk … so it’s starts trying to stand up. And makes at least 100 more mistakes trying to just get on its feet.

And this process continues until the child is walking around without any assistence. Even small toddlers still haven’t COMPLETELY figured out the whole walking thing (just go to a playground and watch them run around and fall all the time — they look like drunk little people!)

But we all know and understand that this making mistakes is not a bad thing. That in fact, it’s better for the child to get started earlier so that it starts making those mistakes earlier … and … becoming superior every day!

You’re Either Moving Forward Or …

There’s a saying that you’re either moving forward or moving backward … and I believe that to be true.

If you’re not constantly striving towards what you want out of life, one day you’re going to look up and realize 50 years have past and you’re still not happy.

You’re going to realize that you should of not waited to start getting what you want out of life … that you should of got started a lot sooner.

IF that does happen to you … it’s still not too late to start … because like ole’ Henry said, “While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior.” and that goes for anyone, anywhere, at any age :)
